Hey there! My name is Trish, and as of January 3, 2010, I am vegan.
I’m married to my wonderful husband, Ty, who is a software engineer at Attachmate. He has been amazingly supportive in my transition to veganism and while he has no interest in becoming vegan himself, he even helps me cook and try out funky recipes from my cookbooks and online. I’m working on developing a good catalog of recipes and meals that I can put together for both of us to eat. This may be difficult, as he’s a picky eater and isn’t big on veggies, but we’ll figure things out.
My goal is to be a healthy vegan, not a “junk food” vegan. I focus on using fresh, local, and organic ingredients when possible, and as little from a package as is realistic. (There are some instances where you really can’t help it, and I’m not a total idealist.)
Once every couple of months, a group of us in Bellingham get together for a vegan potluck, held by Clarissa from Vegan in Bellingham. So far, these have been a huge success, to the point where we’re going to need more tables!
Hi Trish
I am happy to discover there is a significant vegan community in our small town and a place where you share and eat. I love to cook and eat, too. I would be interested in the potluck and other community efforts to support vegan and wholesome food habits. Please feel free to add me on your mailing list.
Take care, Junga
Hi Junga,
Sure thing! I’ll make sure you get on our list to find out when the next potluck will be. We’d love to have you join us!
